FAQ
Common questions.
What is a design partner, as opposed to a customer?
A design partner is an organization that deploys PanOps in exchange for a structured feedback relationship with the PanOps team. You use the product for real — this is not a beta access program or a demo environment. In exchange, you give us direct feedback on what works, what doesn't, and what Signal should do differently. The engagement fee exists to ensure mutual commitment — not as a revenue source. First-time customers who convert after the design partner period receive their first three months free.
What happens to my data?
Your data never leaves your cloud environment. PanOps provisions and manages infrastructure inside your own cloud account — your communications, queries, and organizational intelligence stay there. PanOps personnel have no access to your data by design — customer encryption keys never leave your cloud environment. The architecture is designed to make external access impossible, not merely to prohibit it by policy. See the Security & Privacy page for full detail.
What does PanOps actually access?
PanOps accesses your cloud environment during provisioning to set up infrastructure. Once provisioning is complete, ongoing access to your communications data, query history, or Signal responses is not required and is not maintained. PanOps cannot read your data — the encryption keys are yours, stored in your environment, and PanOps holds no copy. We do have access to infrastructure-level telemetry (compute usage, uptime) for the purposes of managing the environment on your behalf. We do not have access to data inside it.
How long does onboarding actually take?
The full deployment — from provisioning start to first Signal query — takes under an hour for most organizations. This includes automated cloud environment setup (~20 minutes), connector authorization (~15–30 minutes depending on the number of connectors), and employee enrollment. PanOps manages the infrastructure work. Your team's involvement is limited to an initial onboarding call and the connector authorization steps. No IT project. No professional services engagement.
